Hjem kære hjem

Or in English….Home Sweet Home.

We flew back Saturday morning, came home to chaos…M11 was completely shut, so me and C sat down and hot a drink, Tea for me, and Hot Chocolate for her, while we waited for my dad to arrive, all in all, he was only about 30 minutes or so late, which wasn’t bad going considering.

Anyway, we had a lovely time in Denmark, and even took a trip into Germany (so that her parents could buy some cheap booze), the drive took about three hours (there and back), we did manage to get some nice German chocolate though, 10 bars for about £5. Then, on the way home we stopped off at Jensens Boefhus, a lovely steakhouse, for dinner, and I even managed to order my dinner myself in Danish…though I did forget how to say how I liked my steak cooked (well done).

On the Thursday, we woke up and there was snow on the ground, a light dusting…but still, it was nice to wake up to the white, we then went into Aarhus, C had to sort out some stuff with the social security type people, though as per usual, the bureaucrats were most unhelpful, then we went shopping…well C did anyway, though I did get Season 2 of Futurama for £20…bought it in Denmark for the Danish subtitles, should help me learn the language a bit. In the evening we went round to friends of C, though I think I should have stayed at her parents as I wasn’t feeling too well, but I struggled through.

Before I go back to work, I must give praise to the Ryanair staff at the gate for outbound flight on Tuesday. If you’ve ever flown with Ryanair, you’ll know what chaos it can be getting through the gate. Where we were, they had the queing system of people with tickets 1 – 65 stand by the window, the rest in the cordoned off bit near the aisle. However, people try and jump the queue, and they did here. People with higher tickets went to go through with the first boarding call, but for once the staff didn’t just make them wait, the made them rejoin at the back of the second queue. And where some with high tickets had waited with the lower ticket numbers, and then tried to board, one of the staff came out and told them in no uncertain tone, that they would not be allowed to board from that area, and that they had to join the back of the big queue. So well done to the staff…for once.
