I finally got round to seeing the War of the Worlds remake. Not really sure I want to say much more than that….it was such a big disappointment, I was really expecting something truly fantastic, but it never happened. Hell, the original was better…..and that’s not really saying much as even the original film isn’t great.

On a better note, we watched Lord Of War at the weekend, a much better film. Although, I was left disappointed that the film jumped from Nicholas Cage's character being a nobody to this big international gun runner. I would have liked to see how he rose up to that stage, but apart from that it was an excellent film, well acted and directed with a good sotryline. Though it probably helped that it was based on 'actual events'.
