Bannatyne = BannaCRAP!!

Think I posted on here about Bannatyne some time ago. Well, quick low down, last August we joint our local Bannatyne gym, not too far, and when being shown round it looked big and impressive, so we signed up, paying £99 a month for a joint membership.

After the first few months I realised just how bad the place was. It's a disorganised mess, which is rarely cleaned (at least it doesn't look like it), the shower area in the men's changing room is quite disgusting. And as for the actual equipment, well, it's in serious need of updating.

Now, earlier this year they replaced their Lifefitness carido stuff with Technogym. It looked nice and impressive, each maching having it's own TV screen, all new and shiny, but since it was installed...well, it's crap. The cross-trainers, which I use most, are very very very poor when compared to LF. If you go at any real pace on them, the things rock side to side quite badly, that's if you can get comfortable on it in the first place. Most the time it just feels like the damned machine is trying to throw you off.

Anyway, that was the final straw, finally decided to hand in our notice, which for some annoying reason has to be three months, anyway did that on 02/05/06, then received a letter from them saying the usual crap, and stating our membership would expire on 31/08/06. Hmmm, strange, I could have sworn three months from 02/05/06 would take us to 02/08/06, so I wrote back stating this, and law and behold they have decided to be generous and let us go on the date we joined, so as of 13/08/06 we're no longer tied to Bannacrap, and will look forward to a new gym.
