At the weekend we saw Pirates Of The Carribbean: Dead Mans Chest.
My sister and brother-in-law saw this while we were in denmark, and didn’t think too much of it, so wasn’t expecting it to be fantastic. But I was wrong, was a great film, rarely letting up.
All the characters from the first film were in it (and yes, that included Barbossa – but he wasn’t back until right at the end, which leads to the third instalment). It picked up quite well from the first film, tying into it nicely, and adding more to the mythology of the series.
Davy Jones was done really well as was the entire crew of the Flying Duthcman, great effects, and perfectly acted/voiced by Bill Nighy.
The action scenes sword fights were as good as if not better than the first film, with one in particular standout moment, when Will, Jack and Norrington are having a sword fight on a water mill wheel that has broke free from the mill and is rolling around the island.
It was great fun and will keep you entertained throughout, well worth seeing especially if you liked the first one.
Now I just want to know when the third instalment is out.
